CrossFit Games 2021 are nearing, and many CrossFit Games 2021 participants are extremely excited. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. You've heard of the Reebok equipment, the Pegboard contest and the Cutting system. But do you know what to expect from the women's competition? Keep reading to find out! Keep checking the CrossFit news section for the latest updates about the competition.
Women's competition
The swim event was the start of the women's division at the 2021 Crossfit Games. Jonne Koski was the winner in the first race. Tia Clair Toomey Orr was also victorious. Koski won the overall competition after maintaining her lead all the way. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. This was the first Games event for women and the women's team hoped to finish the podium.
The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Kara Saunders (Australian athlete) finished second in Australia. She was also eleventh worldwide for 2020. Another rising star is Andrea Nisler, who competed in the team division in 2018 and finished third in the United States and fifteenth overall in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard competition at Crossfit Games 2021 was the first. Along with dumbbell overhead squats and double-unders, it was included in the Games' summer Olympic programme. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

CrossFit Games are a competition where athletes focus on ten skills that improve their physical fitness: speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. A scale is used to determine the strength and coordination of competitors. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games uses a cutting system to judge individual competition. While it's not as extreme or drastic as in previous Games, this year is very different. The competition has 15 individual events. Therefore, it's likely that the first cut of 30 athletes will occur after the seventh or eight event. The question is: How will CrossFit adjust points after cuts? The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.
This year's field consists of 236 athletes, making it the largest in the history of the CrossFit Games. Major cuts occur in the first six events. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. The top 20 athletes will then compete in the six remaining events. Veteran Games participants criticized Castro's system, claiming that the cuts were too drastic.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. The new shoes are the Nano X1. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok will not fund the Games' prize pool, but it will still make all the equipment and apparel worn by athletes, even the Reebok gear. However, Reebok CrossFit Games will no longer be called the company.

Why Metabolic Health Is the Key to Aging Well?
Today's people live longer than ever before. They are also becoming more sick as a result. While medical science has made incredible advances, it's becoming increasingly obvious that the current approach is not working.
We need to change how we think about health and aging. We have to start looking at metabolic health - not just weight loss but overall wellness - as the key to healthy aging.
To live a full and active life, your metabolism should be healthy all your life.
The good news is that there are many ways to improve your metabolic health. One of those ways is to incorporate these 7 foods into your diet:
-
Blueberries contain resveratrol, which has been shown to help support cellular longevity. They also contain vitamins C & E, as well as antioxidants.
-
Beans such as pinto beans and lentils provide excellent fiber and plant protein. These nutrients keep blood sugar levels stable so that they don't spike or crash.
-
Broccoli contains the antioxidant sulforaphane. This has been shown in studies to protect DNA. It may even slow down cancer growth.
-
Chia Seeds have high levels of omega-3 fatty oils and fiber. They are high in protein and antioxidants. All of these nutrients are good for heart health, brain function, gut health, and overall health.
-
Green Tea contains polyphenols called caechins. Studies have shown that green tea contains catechins which are linked to lower bone fractures and cardiovascular disease. They also reduce cognitive decline and diabetes risk.
-
Salmonis packed with vitamin D, low in saturatedfat and one of best sources of lean meat.
-
Walnuts contain omega-3s and antioxidants like alpha lipoic acid (ALA). ALA helps boost energy production and protects against inflammation.
What food should I avoid if I want to lose weight
Avoid trans fats. Trans fats raise LDL (the bad) cholesterol levels and reduce HDL (the good) cholesterol levels.
Trans fats are found in deep-fried foods, fast food, packaged baked goods, snack cakes, and other processed foods.
These unhealthy fats also contribute to inflammation, leading ultimately to heart disease or diabetes.
Artificial sweeteners are also to be avoided. Artificial sweeteners are linked to an increased risk of cancer.
These chemicals can be found in soft drinks, chewing gum, and candy bars. They also appear in meat, poultry and eggs.
Artificial sweeteners can be saccharin or cyclamate, sucralose, sorbitol or aspartame.
The American Heart Association advises against using these chemicals, as they could damage DNA.

What is the main difference between Aerobic Fitness or Anaerobic Fitness
Anaerobic fitness means that our bodies can perform intense physical work with no oxygen. Anaerobic pathways are used when there is intense exercise to provide sufficient energy. Anaerobic pathways can include glycolysis, creatinephosphate, the Phosphagen, and lactic acids.
Cardio fitness is, in contrast to aerobic fitness, the practice of sustaining low-intensity exercise. While performing aerobic exercises, oxygen is used as the primary source of fuel for the cells. In other terms, the aerobic pathway has more energy that the anaerobic.
If you are looking to run a full marathon, then you have to increase your aerobic ability. If you concentrate on building your anaerobic capability, you won’t be able complete the race.
Aerobic fitness also refers to cardiovascular fitness. Step tests and VO2 max testing are the most popular methods to measure cardiovascular fitness.
Tests for VO2 Max
VO2 max is the maximal amount of oxygen (O2) that the body uses during exercise. This test measures the amount of O2 the body can utilize while exercising.
This test measures cardiovascular fitness in a way that is most accurate. However, the test can only be administered by highly trained professionals and requires expensive equipment.
Step Tests
Step tests are simple yet effective methods of measuring cardiovascular fitness. You will be asked to walk, jog or run for a specific time on a track. This is based on your age or weight.
These tests are inexpensive, easy to conduct, and can be done almost anywhere. You can for instance walk on a treadmill 2 minutes, then stop for 1 minute. Throughout the session your heart rate should not exceed a specified range.
This method is known by the "Bruce Protocol". Bruce was himself a runner and developed the protocol after realizing his heart rate wouldn't increase when he ran for longer distances.
